Cryptic crosswords
Sometimes I set some. I also collect clues if I find them worth treasuring.
Word puzzles
- Ones I set for IITM contests called "What's the Good Word?"
Webcomics
- Strips from a webcomic series to which I once contributed.
Reading
- My goodreads.
- Mini-reviews of some of the best books I've read.
- A short piece on Jane Austen, including a collection of Austen-based movies and quotes about her.
- My selection of Eight Essential Essays.
My style of reading is to plumb vertically down the work of a select few, occasionally surfacing for a title that catches my fancy. I rarely read the living. Isaac Asimov, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, Arthur C. Clarke, R. K. Narayan, Sujatha, and P. G. Wodehouse have received my sustained scrutiny. Austen is my favourite.
Cinema
- Science fiction roll, with flash reviews.
- My top movies of the decade 2011-2020.
Travel
If the Earth were on fire what would I save? Hawai'i, the Oregon Coast, Jasper National Park, some New Mexico, some Alaska, some England, and the entire province of British Columbia.
Miscellaneous
- My entries to The New Yorker cartoon caption contest.
- My collections of
- quotes
- unusual words from Futility Closet's In a Word.
